Family: None. I wish to start a family of my own with Sir Iron-Tail Fratley.
Character Personality: I have a very strict manner of which I conduct myself. As a Dragon Knight, I pride myself in being at the very pinnacle of prowess, always attentive to the needs of my people. Many times I am privy to finding my mind wandering to things of a rather morose nature. I am rather introspective, and often don't give voice to my thoughts.
Character History: I was once a celebrated member of the Dragon Knights, but temporarily gave that all away when my love Sir Fratley decided to leave on a quest around the known world. It was an aching decision at first, but I knew that he was where my heart truly lay. I prayed every day that my Burmecia would not be laid to waste while I was on my quest.
I was wrong...
My search led me to the city of Lindblum, where I ran into an old friend of mine by the name of Zidane. The two of us participated in the Festival of the Hunt together on that day. The hunt was over and while the announcements for the winner were being made, I saw another of my race dressed in a soldier's garb stumbling across the cold marble floor, reaching out to Regent Cid for assistance.
My King...my people...what have I done?
We made haste in response to the distress call, having to enter into combat with Master Gizamaluke while doing so. When we finally arrived, Burmecia stood before us in ruins; a shadow of its former glory.
We find that the mongrels behind this dastardly deed were none other than Queen Brahne of Alexandria, and the Genome known as Kuja. It was Kuja's silver tongue and wily ways that convinced her that Burmecians were naught but rats who should be wiped from the earth. A foolish soldier rushed headlong after them in an attempt to exact vengeance upon his homeland. I understood his rage, but his methods were lacking in tact.
Accompanied by Zidane and the other members of our party, I set out to defend him. Alexandria's General Beatrix met our challange and bested us all, leaving Brahne and Kuja to make their escape.
I was saddened, broken, cracked to my core; but one piece of information gave me some semblence of hope: the King of Burmecia had escaped to the Cleyra Tree...
Brahne's next target.
Indeed the King did make it safely to Cleyra, as did Prince Puck. I was fortunate for that, for it was Puck that gave me the first news of Fratley I've heard in years.
However, there was no time to reminisce.
Brahne and her forces came in all their fullness as expected. The Cleyrans and I performed a dance ritual to strengthen the sandstorm that protected Burmecia's sister, but Kuja's magic proved to be even stronger.
The sands that whipped and whirled about the tree were now quelled, and armies of Black Mages infiltrated the Cleyra settlement. It seemed that we were outnumbered.
That was when I saw him again, in the living flesh.
If Fratley hadn't arrived in time, we all would have been destroyed by the Black Mage army. We were able to escape, and I was finally able to speak with him once again. My joy turned to dissapointment to learn however, that he had lost his memories during his travels. For a time, he didn't even know he was a Dragon Knight himself.
I am grieved to tell you that Cleyra was destroyed by Brahne and her forces.
Still there was no time to lose. Alexandria's Queen and the Genome that controlled her must be stopped. I pledged my life and my spear to that cause.
Our next course of action was to sneak aboard the Red Rose, Brahne's airship. We overheard Beatrix questioning the motives of her Queen, which softened my heart towards her. She was a knight, dedicated to the wellbeing of her monarch, very much like myself.
Beatrix and I came to an understanding in Alexandria, and we worked together to help free Princess Garnet from the foul clutches of her blubbery mother.
Kuja thought little of sacrificing his royal puppet for his cause, and thought even less of the lives around him. He fled to his Desert Palace where we chased after him as he made his escape to the Genome home world of Terra. Terra was difficult to enter, as there were four guardians that we had to face. We split up to defeat them, and I was paired with the hot-headed Amarant to take on the guardian of the Fire Shrine.
Terra then was opened to us, and many secrets about Zidane's origins were there as well. He learned that he himself was a Genome; a Genome created for nothing more than to be the Angel of Death; one who would only destroy.
With our help, Zidane fought through the haze of confusion and pain dealt unto him by those stinging words, and our final battle with Kuja had begun. It was an audurous fight, but we emerged the victors, finally putting Burmecia, Cleyra, Alexandria, the whole of Gaia at ease.
Fratley never recovered the memories of our time together. However, as we worked in conjunction with one another to help rebuild Burmecia, he has fallen in love with me all over again, and I couldn't be more glad for that fact. Perhaps one day we shall start a family when our great city is once again flourishing.
Character's Physical Description: Like all members of my race, I have short grey fur from nose to tail. I also have long rat-like ears and claws that don both my hands and feet. My tail is long and thin, unlike those of some childish monkeys I'd rather not mention. I provided a portrait of myself that was done by an artist in Lindblum. I rather like it; it makes me look quite fetching.
Quotes:
"Beware, the answer you seek may forever change your life for the worse."
"What irony. To find the man about whom I have dreamt endlessly... only to discover that he cannot even remember who I am!"
Roleplaying Sample:
The small prick inside that told her it was a bad idea for Zidane to come back was not a vain notion after all. The tender flesh that was unceremoniously ripped from the chest of all who have come to know and love the child mage was still red and flowing with the crimson blood of a fresh wound.
It was too soon for him...
The Burmecian carefully observed as her old friend stumbled and trundled his way through an inebriated haze. His stance was hunched, almost simian as he gruffly pushed past some Black Mages, their glowing eyes widening in concern.
Freya didn't know how he could stand, much less scuff himself across the terrain with the amount of alcohol he consumed.
He's trying to drown the pain by shutting himself away.
They were but miniscule droplets swaddled in a veritable sea of strangers that day in Lindblum. Her clawed hands tightly clasped the clinking shotglass, made smoky and scratched by years of use. She didn't remember how many drinks she had, but it was enough for her to veil herself against the memories of Fratley.
It wasn't fair that she thought about him as often as she did. It wasn't fair that her heart ached for him so, only to return every evening alone, with only the glinting cold steel of her lance as her companion.
It was Zidane and his impish ways that pulled her from her cesspool of reverie. What a cruel joke, to pretend he had forgotten her name.
If it weren't for Zidane, Freya would never have found Fratley again.
She never would have met Garnet, or Steiner...
or Vivi
"Zidane..." she breathed.
