Mikoto was standing near the Iifa Tree, gasping and leaning on her new scythe. She couldn't go anywhere further; the roots made it impossible for her. The girl looked around: she finally lost them. Escaping the Mist monsters was really hard, but she had already found out that she cannot beat them when she's alone. "What was I thinking?" she gasped again. Mikoto sat behind the nearest rock. Yes, the Mist had to be coming from the Tree. But it was dead. So why...? She needed to contact Zidane. She could feel him far away, in Alexandria. But will it reach him...? "You have seen the Mist already, right? It's coming from the Iifa Tree. Again. The souls are spreading. Again. I don't know why. I cannot tell why. Iifa Tree is dead, Garland is dead, Terra is... Do you have any idea?" she whispered. It had to reach him. Somehow.
Resting behind a rock was quite uncomfortable, but it was better than nothing. She didn't know how to come back to the village. She didn't know why she had come here in the first place. And then the girl suddenly heard something. "Kweeeeh!" The yellow bird seemed familiar. "Bobby...?" He probably followed her. But for now she could only rest on his feathers. He lied down too and they both stayed somewhere near the Iifa Tree.

The sun on Gaia was brilliant and warm. The rains were soft and sweet smelling. The earth was rich and dark.
Many plants grew here. Many trees lived hundreds of years in Gaia's forests and many seasons came and went without much dilemma.
It was a perfect place to put down roots. The perfect place to grow little seedlings of one's own. That was exactly what she intended to do.
A young woman with long blond hair covered in vines that took the shape of a dress walked among the ruined Iifa Tree's remains. She cast her green eyes back and forth along the wreckage as if she were looking for something. She smiled gently as she noticed something among the rubble and bent down to pick it up, cradling a tiny seed pod in her hands as she strolled barefoot through the mist. She turned quickly and looked out into the eerie fog as she heard someone approaching the area. She quickly and easily blended into the area, being covered in foliage.
Greenish gold eyes sparked as she witnessed a blond with short hair approaching. Her eyes narrowed in mistrust as she continued watching the child wander around the roots.
So the Mist had already attracted the Genomes' attention? Hm... This meant plans would have to speed up...
Slinking along in the shadows, Tamesis decided to watch the Genome female carefully. She wouldn't want her stumbling onto something very important... then she couldn't let the girl go home. That might put a bit of a kink in her current plans.
(Tamesis first post; ball is in your court now. ^_^- Tame isn't going to reveal herself just yet.)

"Alright, enough resting. I'm hungry and the Black Mages are probably worried about you, Bobby." the girl stood up and stretched herself a bit. She noticed that the chocobo seemed quite stressed. "Hey, don't worry. The monsters probably won't attack us if we're fast enough." Mikoto smiled and petted the bird. But then she realized that there is something beside the monsters here. She was too tired to feel it before.... But now she could sense something between those roots.
The girl got on the Bobby Corwen and wanted to head back to the village, but somehow she couldn't resist the urge to find out what's this weird feeling. She looked around. And she noticed the golden eyes in the shadows of the Tree. "Who... are you?" she whispered.

The eyes watched carefully from the roots of the tree as the genome talked to the Chocobo about Black Mages and Monsters. The girl apparently had come here without much ability to fight and no one to defend her. Silly fool. How would she be able to return home through the ever thickening Mist now? That Chocobo might be face, but it seemed young still. The spirit doubted that it would have the power needed to rush through a crowd of enemies if the path were blocked.
She couldn't help a slight smirk. The Genome wanted to know who she was? Then by all means...
"You haven't introduced yourself, little girl..." Tamesis said quietly. "If you're going to ask my name, shouldn't you give your own in exchange?" Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the girl carefully.
If she wasn't mistaken, this was one of them that she would need to continue her plans. A... Harbinger of Death. Such a pretty young girl too.
Tamesis slid closer to the opening she was watching out of so it was a little easier to see her, but she wasn't willing to come all the way out just yet.
"I'm surprised you made it all the way here alone, little one. The monsters are gathering in the mist thicker and stronger than ever."

"My name is..." she thought for a bit. It couldn't hurt to tell the mysterious person that. It's not like it means anything. She caught herself on thinking that she has no personality again. The genome shook her head. "Mikoto. I'm Mikoto." She looked in the eyes that were staring at her. "Why are you hiding? I feel like..." I'm talking to the tree "...it's good to see who you're talking with, right?"
She realized that some things that she has learned aren't quite helping her now. She's thinking too much, while she should just try to find out who exactly is that... person. Not herself. I'm the Angel of...! No... just a genome...? A... person...? Damn...

Tamesis let out a small smile at the name. "Mikoto... a pretty name." She slowly slid her top half out of the tree, leaning out to look down at the girl. Her blond hair turned twig like at it's ends and her body seemed to be covered in vines and moss. She seemed to be perfectly blended with her surroundings so much that unless you were looking at her face, you might not even know she was there.
"I suppose since you are brave enough to tell me your name, I shall be strong and tell you mine." She chuckled softly under her breath. "I am called Tamesis by the other trees. So I suppose that would be my name." She slid out the rest of the way, her legs sticking out from beneath a tangled dress of foliage and greenery. As she stepped out into the light the twigs in her hair immediately began reaching up towards the sun to gather more energy, as if she'd been starving them until this point.
She turned to look at the tree trunk she had just emerged from. "I came to see if it was true that the old one was still alive. ...it seems it was only wishful dreaming. Though the outside trunk is not long dead, the spirit of this tree has passed long ago." Her body seemed to sway in the slight breeze like any other tree, making her human features seem oddly placed. She put her hand to the tree's trunk as if affectionately caressing the thing. She was obviously thinking about something from far back in the past that had to do with the tree, but she did not speak of the memory that seemed to cloud her eyes.
"...Sleep well, old one. May your seeds scatter far and wide in your memory." She had an eerie sparkle in her eyes as she said that. Then she turned back to Mikoto.
"But that leaves an anomaly, doesn't it? If the tree is dead... where is the infernal Mist coming from?"

The girl didn't show any kind of surprise as Tamesis showed herself. She had been thinking if it can be true that she is a tree. And she was relieved that she wasn't the part of the Iifa Tree. Mikoto's face wasn't showing anything, like a blank page. "You don't know? I was hoping you might have some answers." She jumped off the bird, but was still holding him. "I was just wondering what could have caused the Mist if the Iifa Tree is dead. It cannot have anything to do with Terra... I suppose." The girl decided to share her thoughts for now. At least the ones that mattered. Maybe she will get to know more about the situation that way. But does Tamesis know about Terra? Probably... If she knew the Iifa Tree then she probably knows.

The tree girl did nothing to hide the fact that she was not planning to answer the girl's questions. It was far too soon for anyone to know what was happening. The seeds of wrath had not yet sprouted and their roots were tiny yet. Things would need time to grow before they could be revealed and stand on their own.
Turning her head back to see the young, emotionless woman, Tamesis looked her over.
"I'm afraid I don't know any answers definitely. All I know is... this tree is but a shell of a corpse with no spirit or life in it. The Mist is not coming from this place. Nor will it ever again, I'd imagine. Which is surprising... I don't know of anything else that could create this mist..." She turned her eyes back to the wooden ruin that was what was left of the Iifa tree.
Slowly she backed away from it and turned to leave. "I must return to my tree before it is as empty and dead as this one... I beg your pardon for leaving so swiftly but... I believe it's best you get back to your home soon as well. Since the source is not here, it will only get stronger until it is discovered." With that, Tamesis glided away into the fog, clutching a small green pod to her chest as she gracefully fled.
After she was far enough away, she chuckled beneath her breath.
"By the time they realize what's going on... it'll be too late for them to do anything about it..." (Tamesis has left the thread.)

Mikoto was looking at the woman as she fled. Something seemed fishy to her, Tamesis couldn't have told her everything she knew. "The Mist is only here now. So how can it not be coming from this place? Something has to be here... But should I really go on? I'm not really prepared... And I should probably take someone with me." The girl sighed. Going back to the village and then back here... she didn't quite look forward to it. "Maybe I should just go to the Mist Continent and see Zidane? I could train Bobby a little." She really didn't know what to do. She was supposed to keep Zidane updated (He told her so, she heard it during her conversation with Tamesis, so she couldn't answer), but what should she tell him? There was nothing sure yet anyway. "Alright, we're going home Bobby," she got on the bird again and sighed "we cannot do anything here now anyway." and chocobo started to run in the village's direction, seeming happy to finally be able to do so.
